I have over 10 year’s experience working in education. I currently work at UCL as an Associate Lecturer, mainly contributing to the Englicious project. This includes creating online resources, social media marketing, and teacher training.
I am an English teacher with experience in teaching EFL overseas, EAP at universities, and ESOL, Functional Skills and GCSE in Further Education colleges and training providers.
In my practice, I use the principles of cognitive load theory, direct instruction and unconditional positive regard.
I have conducted research into the role of ‘non-standard’ varieties of English in the education system through interviews and critical discourse analysis.
I am active on edutwitter, and write about educational issues at lpearcelearning.com
