English Tuition

I have over 10 year’s experience working in education with a subject specialism in English.

I hold a CELTA and PGCE in post-16 education, as well as a Master’s in Education and Language.

I teach mainly in post-16 settings: this includes upper-secondary, sixth-forms, further education colleges and training providers.

I specialise in interventions both one-to-one and with small groups, helping learners overcome barriers. I have worked with adults and young people, including those who speak English as a second language and those with behavioural and learning needs.

I use techniques drawn from evidence-based practice such as direct instruction, cognitive-load theory and unconditional positive regard to support my learners achieve their best results.

I have experience teaching GCSE English Language (especially AQA), English Literature, Functional Skills, and ESOL & EFL qualifications.
